It's time...

A little update on my life before concluding the last phase of in-dev testing trial of Vigilum

On my life...

Well, it's been quite a month. On one side, I focused solely on developing and completing Vigilum — the public Trello board has been updated throughout, even if no external visitor saw it. On the other hand, I was laid off; and with my main source of income gone, the funding for assets, tools and more is gone as well.

What will happen with Vigilum?

Well... it's getting done! Just got a bit sidetracked for obvious reasons, still everything seems to be on schedule. Vigilum has had 100% of my free time dedicated to it. Over the last months I've been working on it with minor framework tweaks.

As for now, Hayden is being tested, along with some QoL changes to create a smoother experience. Vigilum proved to be a challenge in more ways than one — not only for being a one-person project, but for the countless interactions the game has.

Hayden's design is too complex to be a simple AI from a generic horror title. He harnesses the full potential of the Cosmic Framework. It's not my first time working with AI in videogames, but it's definitely the first time creating something of this scope for a "small" game.

Nonetheless, I'm happy to be working on this project. I really hope it goes well — it would mean being able to go full-time with this. I have a lot of ideas waiting for the right moment. Even if Vigilum doesn't do well, I intend to listen to community feedback and work towards better deliverables. Although, if I'm being honest, I don't think Vigilum will fail. I'm positive everything will work out.

With that said, I'll get back to work. A soft announcement is coming soon, with a gameplay video showcasing how everything is going.
